Iphone 4 Apps Not Opening

Laura asks…

iPhone 4 apps not opening?

None of them will open (except the built in apple apps such as mail, contacts, phone, etc.), they will just flash to their loading screens for a few seconds and then return to the homescreen of the phone. Neither a soft reset nor a hard reset will fix this. Downloading a free app store won’t fix this either, and I can’t bring it to Apple since it’s jailbroken. I would reset it, but I’m afraid….what to do?
Yes, I have tried that, and I can’t really afford to buy a new phone every few months :/

admin answers:

Have you tried to press the home button and close all apps, then restart your device!

Well if it didn’t work you must connect to iTunes, make a backup, and restore it.
It’s completely safe and won’t hurt your iPhone.
Just notice that depending on how you have JB your phone, some software blocks iTunes from restoring your phone. If that happens, just search the error code on google and you’ll easly find the solution

Nancy asks…

can downgrading harm my iphone 4 ?

i have iphone 4 its frimware 4.3.1 and the apps opened and then closed and some times the apps freezed on a black screen so i think i should restore the software or downgrade it so i want to know if its not a trusted thing to do

admin answers:

Not your phone. It’s the apps. They have bugs, or just done work. Usually when you instal apps. It beat to restart phone after installing without opening them. If it continuous to happen wait for there to be am app update, the creator usually fixes it.

Linda asks…

How do you make the multi-task stop from draining the battery power on an iPhone 4?

I heard that multi-task makes the battery power get drained faster since all the apps at the bottom of the iphone are running. I was wondering how do I NOT use it. Every time I open an app from the home screen, it ends up being put in the “multi-task bar” at the bottom. I have to delete every app when its put on the multi-task bar which is very annoying.

please help, thanks

admin answers:

Multi-task sometimes really boring, but you have to use this function for some apps. The best way is manually close the apps to prevent battery draining.

But if your iPhone 4 has already jail broken, you can find such source in Cydia that would stop multi-task function, but with that will make your iPhone 4 like a iphone 3g which is really slow and weak.

Hope this helps

Ruth asks…

How to close programs on iPhone 4?

So my iPhone has multitasking, and so the program doesn’t really close when I click the home button. This is an assumption based on battery running very quickly and apps starting up really quickly when I re-open it (I’m not very good with these things). So how do I close the programs? They take a lot of battery just running in the background.

admin answers:

Double click the home button and when the apps appear touch and hold until u get a little delete sign

Iphone Apps Download Websites

Sandy asks…

Where can I download iPhone apps besides apptrackr.org?

I’ve been downloading apps at apptrackr. However, I find some apps that I know are not included. I was wondering if there are other websites like apptrackr.

admin answers:

Charles asks…

Are there any websites that have good iPhone apps that don’t require jailbreaking your phone?

I just bought an iPhone and I want to download some apps. From what I understand, Apple has released the iPhone/iPod Touch SDK earlier this year so therefore there shouldn’t be any reason to have to jailbreak an iPhone any more, right? I want some apps for my phone that don’t require me to jailbreak, for fear of bricking up my new phone. I’ve checked out the apps on the iTunes store and I’ve found a few I like but most of them are lame. I don’t mind paying for apps but i’m not paying $4 to fake like I’m drinking milk or to pop fake bubble wrap, that stuff is useless. Are there any websites that offer any apps like this? If so I’d like to know which ones and what some cool/interesting/neat/useful apps they have.

admin answers:

I like to look at http://www.bofads.com on my iphone – it views very well.

I want a new phone what do you suggest?

I want a new phone, I currently have verizon and have a voyger. I hate the phone. I am looking at switching to att and getting an iphone or impression. Att doesn’t have the best service but I love all the apps on the iphone. My contact isn’t up until Feb 2010. Any suggestions?

admin answers:

Iphone, they have great apps

Ken asks…

How does verizon’s new upgrades work? [iphone]?

Okay so i have a samsung reality. I got in august of 2010. I want to upgrade to the iphone 4S. Im just wondering

[1]if this is still part of the every two plan(which i believe discounts the iphone a little bit).

[2] i am on a 25mb data plan, could i upgrade to the unlimited?

[3] If i cant, what is the best data plan for me?
I wont be downloading huge apps or watching videos, just facebook/browsing web.

admin answers:

1. I don’t understand what you are trying to ask in question 1. Sorry.

2. Verizon does not have unlimited plan anymore, it has been removed in the summer times.

3. I recommend the 2G data plan, which is also the cheapest for 30 dollars a month.

Build An Iphone App Free

Lizzie asks…

How do I build a business in Sim free play app on my iphone?

admin answers:

Build a grocery store.

Robert asks…

Iphone App- I’m looking for an app that tracks running and has built in interval timer?

Im looking for an app that tracks running and has a built in interval timer that is either free or .99 cents or 2 separate apps with one of them being cape able to run in the background. What I’m trying to do all together is

1. Listen to music (built in ipod already runs in background)
2. Tracks my distance/route via GPS
3. Have a timer go off every xx minutes so i can do interval training.

Currently what I’m using to track GPS is RunKeeper *Free*

admin answers:

Go to mapmyrun.com and map your route first.

Then get a $5 digital watch with a timer feature…if you don’t already have one. Then you don’t have to carry your Iphone and can go with a lighter, cheaper, MP3 player.

Richard asks…

What do you need to make an app for a smart phone?

I’m taking visual design for our final project we can choose whatever we want to do. I had some ideas for books and zines, and I had a pretty good idea for a website, but then I thought, books are pretty obsolete these days, and websites are yesterday, what now is your iPhone or your htc and the apps and games on that.

So are there any specific programs you need to build an app? Any free ones? I have most the Adobe programs if.you can use any of them?
it is a design course yes, I just wanted to do something different. Also we looked at web design briefly last year and it’s definitely something I want to get my head completely around.

And how hard can it be to build a simple app right? Nobody ever got anywhere without teaching themselves new skills :) thanks for your post, it looks like exactly what I wanted, but please dont let that deter other answers!

admin answers:

It depends on the phone, it generally requires heavy programming experience.

For Apple you must have a Mac (you can use PC but its a pain and you have to jump through hoops), also Apple forces you to pay the $99 developer fee to be able to place the app you make on your phone (yes, even just on your own phone). You will then need to be familiar with xcode and programming in Objective C.

For Android phones everything is free, you only need to pay if you want to sell your app, you are free to distribute it anyway you want. You’ll need the Android SDK, and learn how to program in Java.

I am unfamiliar with Palm and Blackberry but I’m sure they must have their own SDKs (they most likely use Java)

Now it sounds to me (although I’m only assuming) that you are in a design course rather then a technical programming course, so your best course of action is probably to create an application via HTML, this way you don’t create a native app but you create a little web app that users of smart phones can visit by going to the site, it requires much less programming experience, check this out:

here are resources for android and iphone development:

Daniel asks…

Are non-developers really having success using Do It Yourself (DIY) or Automated iPhone Development Tools?

I own a small software development company that gets approached regularly by non-technical users who tried unsuccessfully to build their idea into an iPhone app using free (or cheap) automated development tools.

Sure someone that isn’t a developer could try these tools, but I suppose they could learn to do maintenance and repairs on their own car as well. Chances are it’s not the best idea and they will run into limitations/problems quickly.

I’ve written a bit more on iPhone Development DIY here: http://www.customsoftwarebypreston.com/iphone-diy-development-tools

Just curious of the opinion of some end users.

admin answers:

Not only for iPhone apps, but for everything that touches programming…
There are thousands of “tools” to “allow” non-savvy people to THINK they can do something, without learning anything.
ALL I know have failed to reach their targets (whether a website, an app, or a stand-alone program).
It seems, unfortunately, that people STILL can’t understand that programming is no longer for amateurs, and learning how to code is NOT for the feint hearted, nor the lazy…

Iphone App Killer

Richard asks…

In general does the iphone use more data than an android phone because it doesnt have an app killer?

I want to get the new iphone but I’m worried I will use too much data.

admin answers:

Not that i know of? I’m sure the phones use the same amount of internet, its just based off of how many apps you’re running and how much you’re on your phone that will use up your internet.
But i’m sure it’s basically the same amount of internet.

Daniel asks…

Would you buy a game about killer zombie bears with 3d graphics as an iphone app for 1.99?

admin answers:

If they drive monster trucks and breath fire.

Nancy asks…

I just got an iPhone 4. Do I need an app killer?

I know it may seem like a silly/stupid question but thanks for helping out anyway!
:)

admin answers:

No – and you probably can’t even get one if you wanted to.

App killers are mostly useful on phones with real multitasking (like Android), where several apps can run at the same time.

But the iPhone doesn’t really have much multitasking, nearly nearly all apps are limited to running one at a time; anything an app tries to do while another app is running is very limited and restricted by the operating system.

Another reason you won’t find an app killer for iPhone is because Apple controls what apps are allowed to do and what apps are available in their store, and an App Killer is something that they wouldn’t allow, because it could cause problems with other apps.

Charles asks…

Would u buy a 3d game with killer zombie bears as an iphone app for 1.99?

admin answers:

Depends on the gameplay, how well it’s designed, graphics, etc, etc. From just reading the 6 word description, no. With more information, maybe.
