Iphone 4 Apps Not Opening

Laura asks…

iPhone 4 apps not opening?

None of them will open (except the built in apple apps such as mail, contacts, phone, etc.), they will just flash to their loading screens for a few seconds and then return to the homescreen of the phone. Neither a soft reset nor a hard reset will fix this. Downloading a free app store won’t fix this either, and I can’t bring it to Apple since it’s jailbroken. I would reset it, but I’m afraid….what to do?
Yes, I have tried that, and I can’t really afford to buy a new phone every few months :/

admin answers:

Have you tried to press the home button and close all apps, then restart your device!

Well if it didn’t work you must connect to iTunes, make a backup, and restore it.
It’s completely safe and won’t hurt your iPhone.
Just notice that depending on how you have JB your phone, some software blocks iTunes from restoring your phone. If that happens, just search the error code on google and you’ll easly find the solution

Nancy asks…

can downgrading harm my iphone 4 ?

i have iphone 4 its frimware 4.3.1 and the apps opened and then closed and some times the apps freezed on a black screen so i think i should restore the software or downgrade it so i want to know if its not a trusted thing to do

admin answers:

Not your phone. It’s the apps. They have bugs, or just done work. Usually when you instal apps. It beat to restart phone after installing without opening them. If it continuous to happen wait for there to be am app update, the creator usually fixes it.

Linda asks…

How do you make the multi-task stop from draining the battery power on an iPhone 4?

I heard that multi-task makes the battery power get drained faster since all the apps at the bottom of the iphone are running. I was wondering how do I NOT use it. Every time I open an app from the home screen, it ends up being put in the “multi-task bar” at the bottom. I have to delete every app when its put on the multi-task bar which is very annoying.

please help, thanks

admin answers:

Multi-task sometimes really boring, but you have to use this function for some apps. The best way is manually close the apps to prevent battery draining.

But if your iPhone 4 has already jail broken, you can find such source in Cydia that would stop multi-task function, but with that will make your iPhone 4 like a iphone 3g which is really slow and weak.

Hope this helps

How to close programs on iPhone 4?

So my iPhone has multitasking, and so the program doesn’t really close when I click the home button. This is an assumption based on battery running very quickly and apps starting up really quickly when I re-open it (I’m not very good with these things). So how do I close the programs? They take a lot of battery just running in the background.

admin answers:

Double click the home button and when the apps appear touch and hold until u get a little delete sign

How To Build An Iphone Application

Daniel asks…

Is there a site that shows you how to build a simple iPhone application? Or developer that could help me?

I’d like to build a basic application that just emulates the standard folder drill down to a specific document, audio file, or video.

Seems like this should be a no brainer but I have very little experience programming and the Apple tutorials are geared for the more advanced programmer.

Mary asks…

How can I get an application made for the iPhone / pod, so that I can design buildings?

So I can show customers what I can build quickly and easily with out drawing them a picture on site.
Just need to be able to type in area then where Walls go, the Hight etc.
Would like maybe to be able to put windows in and doors.

admin answers:

I think you will find that drawing lines and boxes on a screen will not necessarily translate into a workable design for a building. Your local council will be pretty cross if you keep designing buildings that fall down.

Instead, you design on a proper design package on a PC, it can calculate weights and strengths/weaknesses and calculate costs and oh so much more. Then on your iPhone you can show the customer an image (as a rotating image or video if you like).

William asks…

How do I add a second screen to my single view based iPhone application?

Hi everyone.

I have built a View based application in XCode that I have now finished and works correctly. Before submitting to the app store, I would like to put an about screen on it. Is it fairly easy to add a second screen with the about details on it? Also how would I do this?

Thanks

Paul
p.s. how do I go about putting a twist animation as the screens change also?
To dhvrm – thanks for the link, but I am a total n00b when it comes to iphone programming. I understand the applications generally have only one window and the view is just changed to move forms.

My question is, do I just create another nib file for the other view? And if so, what code would I need to use to tap a button and change between the views (using the twist animation)

Sandy asks…

iphone sdk?

I keep hearing how apple released the iphone sdk. My question is did they simply release a development environment for programmers to use in the future or are there actually applications that have been built for the iphone?

Also if there are apps allowed right now is there a site that explains some apps that may be available. Specifically I’d love to have some type of IM client on the iphone maybe gtalk or something of the sort.

admin answers:

Both…lol.

Official SDK released on March 6th. They released the SDK earlier than that to Electronic Arts, salesforce.com, AOL, epocrates, and SEGA.

Guess what? EA made 18 levels of Spore in 2 weeks! So imagine how much they can do by the time June hits!

AOL already has a working AIM (I saw no flaw during the event) in two weeks!…imagine how flawless it would be by the time June hits!

SEGA got a ton of levels of this weird monkey game…The SDK was so easy for their professional developers, that they had to fly in a graphics artist so they could up the graphics! Lol!

PopCap already signed on after March 6, and probably have a working Bejeweled, Zuma, etc.

Microsoft is currently looking at Office for the iPhone

Ventrilo is currently reviewing if VOIP would work

Sun Microsystems already developed a really lite version of Java.

Adobe is jumping in to try and make a Flash plug-in that will please Steve Jobs.

Now confirmed so far: The list of companies include Intuit, Namco Networks, NetSuite, PopCap, Rocket Mobile, Six Apart, and THQ Wireless. Specific software titles listed include Pac-Man, Galaga, Bejeweled, Zuma, Peggle and SuitePhone.

And of course smaller independent developers like MobileChat (yes, from jailbreaking) have already coded some of their apps (though they can’t test on a real device just yet)

And I’m here on Y!A (not only because I’m a regular) but also to pick up some smaller ideas to code (based on people’s questions).

Apps are not available because they all require firmware 2.0 (really firmware 1.2.0…but it’s releasing as 2.0), which comes out in June (for free…except for iPod Touch users)

But yes, MobileChat will the the one to release something other than AIM (since AOL already has AIm, but Yahoo or Google have not confirmed MSN, Yahoo, or GTalk)

Unfortunately, it seems like AIM is the only one that will support background chat (technically no developer can make an app that runs in the background…everyone’s guess is that AOL will get an exception…but MobileChat? Apple knows nothing about them).

How To Create An Iphone App

Mandy asks…

Is it worth it trying to create an iPhone app?

I don’t know how to make an iPhone app, but if I find a good developer we can split the profit, but is it even worth it?

admin answers:

The catch is that you can’t know if Apple will let you sell the app until it’s finished and you submit it to them.

You also have to use a Mac and Apple’s developer tools (which are not free) to build the app.

If I were you I would do an Android app instead, for the following reasons:
- There aren’t any “app police” that get to approve or deny your app.
- You can use any PC to build the app and the developer tools are free.
- The number of Android apps and phones is increasing really fast, so it should be a good market.

Carol asks…

How do I create an iPhone app?

I would like to create an app for iPhone/iPod etc. but I’m not sure how. Anyone know how? Thanks!:)

admin answers:

You’ll need an iOS Dev Center account. You’ll also need to know how to actually develop an app, which is knowledge that Yahoo! Answers isn’t going to give you.

Ken asks…

i need to create an iphone app? where do i go?

Laura asks…

how can i create an iPhone app in Windows?

have an iPhone.
my computer is Windows XP.
i don’t want to buy a mac.
how do i make iPhone apps in a Windows XP operating system?
how do i add a mac disk? i can install mac to my PC? can i have a seperate partition, one being mac, the other being PC?

admin answers:

Buy a mac disk and install to your computer so that you can run iphone application on your window XP computer.

My friend has a macbook and he installed XP into it so that he can install some other games. It worked well. After installing mac into your XP, you can choose which one to use(XP or MAC) when the computer is booting up. I think you need to press some buttons in order to get to that page. I’m not sure about how to do it, but you can ask some IT people that you know. Hope this help :D

Ideas for an iPhone App?

Hi,

These days I am thinking of creating an App for iPhone but don’t have an interesting idea. I would really appreciate if you guys and gals can share interesting ideas. It can be anything which you feel is missing on appstore. Silly ideas are also welcomed as you never know they might turn into a big success. Winner will get the app for free – if I manage to implement it.

Thanks in advance.
I know Objective-C and own a mac. I have already made a few Apps for my company but this time around, I want to develop my own product. It should be something that people are willing to buy as it wont be free. For that I need an interesting idea.
@cool4evaeva – Good idea but I think apple wouldn’t approve this.

admin answers:

Do you know Objective C and own a Mac? Start off with something easy like a soundboard. Don’t forget you have to sign up with the Apple Dev program which is $99 a year first

Ken asks…

What is a free and easy to use app creator to create and publish apps for the iphone/ipod?

i have the liscense already bought a and mac powerbook runnig on os x 10.5.8, but i do not know how to do all of the codeing to make the app so i need some type of program. It also would preferabley be 2d and not 3d. my app ideas involve me creating images and when a buttong is touched then the next image would appear, simple enough but yet needs a 2D creator not a 3D. IPhone app distribution question?

When you create a iPhone application on a mac, can you upload It to the app store for free or do you have to pay just to upload it to the app store??

Thanks

admin answers:

You do NOT have to pay to upload it to the AppStore. However. You do have to pay to get the developers license for the SDK and Apple takes a 30% cut of the revenue from AppStore.

Iphone Apps Download Websites

Charles asks…

Are there any websites that have good iPhone apps that don’t require jailbreaking your phone?

I just bought an iPhone and I want to download some apps. From what I understand, Apple has released the iPhone/iPod Touch SDK earlier this year so therefore there shouldn’t be any reason to have to jailbreak an iPhone any more, right? I want some apps for my phone that don’t require me to jailbreak, for fear of bricking up my new phone. I’ve checked out the apps on the iTunes store and I’ve found a few I like but most of them are lame. I don’t mind paying for apps but i’m not paying $4 to fake like I’m drinking milk or to pop fake bubble wrap, that stuff is useless. Are there any websites that offer any apps like this? If so I’d like to know which ones and what some cool/interesting/neat/useful apps they have.

admin answers:

I like to look at http://www.bofads.com on my iphone – it views very well.
